Does LJ look... kind of... different than it did an hour ago?
I know I will soon be used to it, but for now... whoa.

I've been friended by a number of spambots recently, and I see I'm not the only one—-I spotted a number of familiar names on the bot's info page.

Anyway, here is a form where you can report a suspected bot:

I just looked over my interests list and found a number of things listed which no longer interest me. Removed:

Animal Crossing: haven't played it for almost two years
Avocados: don't eat them anymore, also it was spelled wrong
Chairman Kaga: RIP Iron Chef
Electroplankton: it's fun but I wouldn't consider it an interest
Hot water bottles: I don't even own one and don't know what I was on about with this one
Mythbusters: very short-lived interest
Fhwqgads: don't care about H*R anymore (despite the userpic)
Ratty Kisses: no longer receive these
Spore: waited so long for this game, I stopped caring
The Office: Haven't watched it in ages
Zingy Zaps: have not eaten these in years

LJ dream

Last night was possibly the first time I've ever actually dreamed about LJ. Like, I was using it and scrolling through my friends list, etc.

Anyway, in the dream someone posted an anonymous comment to me alerting me to the presence of an account devoted entirely to the mocking of my journal. The person would repost every one of my entries, and then append it with snide remarks at the bottom. I was absolutely aghast. I checked the user info page, and the journal had a substantial fanbase. I woke up and considered that such a scenario is not all that far-fetched.

LJ entered reality(?) a few times last week, most notably an excellent Ethiopian lunch with [ profile] exsanguinated yesterday (that was real), knitting, dinner and more knitting with [ profile] jacquieblackman on Wednesday (also real), and a thrilling appearance by [ profile] heatherella on the season finale of Law & Order (fake but also real). Whee!

LJ survey

How did you find out about LJ, and how long have you had yours?
I was just reminiscing this morning and started wondering about the rest of you. My 4-year LJversary is coming up soon.

I'll go first )

I just thought I'd say hey to three newcomers: [ profile] dusty668, [ profile] ginny_t and [ profile] juleakab. My apologies for not mentioning it before, but I am not very observant and seldom notice when people have added me. Sometimes it takes weeks!

Anyway, hi!

Nothing much going on here today so it seems like a perfect time to fit in an LJ post. Marshall is out in the kitchen preparing a mystery lunch, which from past experience is as likely to be delicious as disastrous, but fingers crossed.

First off, a belated welcome aboard goes out to [ profile] mmarques and [ profile] xmurf, the latter of whom may or may not have found me via [ profile] grammarpolice. Hi!

If I might drop a few more lj user tags, thanks to [ profile] haggisthesecond, [ profile] zero_gravity and [ profile] joots for the fun time the other night. A night of pure breeze-shootin', and a mighty enjoyable one too.

Finally, on Friday I purchased a game called Blink which M and I have been playing, on and off, all weekend. It is incredibly simple but play is teeth-grindingly intense. There are no turns; you just get rid of your cards as fast as you can, and it generally takes less than a minute. Marshall is an absolute machine when it comes to this game. Even his red-green colour blindness does not give me enough of an advantage to make a difference... he occasionally pauses to stare extra-hard at certain cards, but still beats me every frigging time. Our best-of-five tournaments have devolved into evening-long grudge matches. Must. Win. Must. Win.
